Plans and billing

Each workspace has its own subscription, and the plan determines which features and limits are available. Only the workspace owner can view or manage billing.

Your trial

Every new workspace starts with a 14-day free trial — no credit card required. The trial includes Pro-tier entitlements, so you can try everything before choosing a plan.

What your plan controls

Plans grant entitlements: limits and feature flags synced from your plan's configuration in Stripe.

Entitlement What it controls
Team members How many people can be in the workspace — pending invitations count toward this limit
API keys How many active API keys the workspace can have
Webhook endpoints How many webhook endpoints the workspace can register
API access Whether the REST API and MCP server are available
Webhooks Whether outbound webhooks are available

When you hit a limit, MCP Gateway tells you at the point of action — for example, when sending an invitation that would exceed your seats. To raise a limit, upgrade to a higher plan.

The Billing page

Click Billing in the sidebar under the Admin section to see:

  • Current plan — plan name and subscription status, with your renewal date (or days left in your trial)
  • Usage — meters for team members, API keys, and webhook endpoints against your plan's limits
  • Features — whether API access and webhooks are enabled on your plan

Upgrading

To upgrade from a trial (or change plans), head to the pricing page and pick a plan. Checkout is handled by Stripe Checkout — you enter payment details on Stripe's secure page and are returned to your workspace when the subscription is active. MCP Gateway never sees or stores your card details.

Managing your subscription

From the Billing page, click Manage in Stripe to open the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can:

  • Change your plan — upgrade or downgrade
  • Update your payment method
  • View and download invoices
  • Cancel your subscription (your workspace stays active until the end of the billing period)

What happens if your subscription lapses

If your trial ends without an upgrade, or a subscription is canceled or payment ultimately fails, the workspace locks: members are redirected to an informational page instead of the workspace, and owners are sent to the pricing page to reactivate. Your data is kept — choosing a plan restores access immediately. Subscription changes also fire the subscription.updated webhook event, so your own systems can react.

Billing is per workspace

Each workspace is billed independently by its owner. If you belong to several workspaces, their subscriptions don't affect each other.
